US – EPA Watersense

WaterSense, a partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is designed to help consumers identify water efficient products and programs. Products and programs that meet all water efficiency and performance requirements receive the WaterSense label, meaning they are generally at least 20% more water-efficient than similar products in the marketplace.

High-efficiency Faucets: To be eligible for WaterSense, the maximum and minimum flow rate requirements for faucets are 1.5gpm max at 60psi and 0.8gpm min at 20psi, saving 30% water and energy compared to a flow rate of 2.2gpm.

High-efficiency Showers: For showerheads, there are three test points in the WaterSense specification (at 20, 45 and 80psi) with a minimum and maximum flow rate for each test point.
